He has written several essays (Who Will Save the Mediterranean Corridor? / Globalization Adrift / The New Globalization) and is a frequent contributor to La Vanguardia.

Houda Ben Jannet Allal
Director General
Mediterranean Observatory of Energy and Climate (OMEC)
Dr. Houda Ben Jannet joined OMEC (formerly OME) in 1992 and became Director General in 2013. She specializes in energy prospects, renewables, and cooperation in the Mediterranean. She also leads the UfM Gas Platform Secretariat and has lectured at top French institutions. She holds a PhD from École des Mines de Paris.

Octavi Quintana

PRIMA Foundation
Octavi Quintana has been the Director of the PRIMA Foundation since 2017. He is a Medical Doctor (UAB), specialized in Intensive Medicine, MPH Univ. Columbia.
He was Director of the Málaga Hospital, Deputy Director of INSALUD, and served as the President of the European Council Bioethics Committee Director. He was vice-president to the EC Ethics European Group and Director of International Affairs of the Spanish Health Ministry and worked as a coordinator for humanitarian aid in Rwanda, Burundi, Bosnia, and Kosovo. He directed scientific divulgation programs in TVE2 and became Director of Scientific Research in the EC in Health, Energy, European Research.

Anas Makhmalji
Overseas Offices Unit Analyst
Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye
Anas Makhmalji Khoga is an Analyst in the Overseas Offices Unit at the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. He promotes Türkiye’s investment climate internationally, coordinates the organization’s representative offices abroad and has contributed to key initiatives between 2021 and 2025.
With over a decade of experience in international trade, logistics, and finance, he has aided companies to expand internationally at ACCIÓ, Catalonia’s Agency for Business Competitiveness, where he played an integral role in developing the Technical Office for Internationalization Barriers. He holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Barcelona and is fluent in Spanish, Catalan, Arabic, English, Turkish and French, leveraging his expertise to foster cross-cultural collaboration.

Stella Tsani
Associate Professor
National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
Dr. Stella Tsani is an Associate Professor of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing in sustainable development, energy, natural resource management, and economic policy. She received the 2025 EUSEW Women in Energy Award for her contributions to Europe’s energy transition and the first Greek scholar in the Global Young Academy, where she co-leads work on the SDGs and innovation. Dr. Tsani is a lead author for the UN Environment Programme’s 7th Global Environment Outlook, an expert contributor to the IPCC and International Energy Agency, and serves on advisory boards for the European Commission and other international organizations. With a track record of coordinating over 40 research projects funded by entities such as the EU and World Bank, her research combines economics, energy, and sustainability, with widely published work and active involvement in advancing youth participation and global STEM initiatives.

Roberta de Palma
Senior Circular Economy Advisor
UNIDO
A seasoned Senior Circular Economy Advisor at UNIDO, with extensive expertise in driving sustainable economic growth and environmental protection. With over two decades of experience, she has led significant initiatives like SWITCH-Med, mobilizing over €250 million investments for circular economy businesses and establishing multi-stakeholder platforms. Her work includes developing national circular economy roadmaps in sectors like textile, plastic and blue economy, as well as innovative methodologies for industrial resource efficiency, often in collaboration with multinational corporations and international organizations. She currently act as senior circular economy advisor to the Green Forward Industry programme targeting different industrial sectors.
Her diverse assignments have spanned organizations such as UNIDO, EU, IFC, involving more than 200 companies within the food & beverage, textile, leather, chemical, and mechanical/electronic sectors, engaging with major corporations like Holcim Italia and Fiera Milano. She has also provided expert monitoring for the EU LIFE portfolio in the MENA Region for DG Environment and for the EU Eco-Innovation programme.
A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Politecnico di Bari, she also holds a Diploma in Cleaner Production and Sustainable Development from Lund University and is a published author in industrial resource efficiency and waste management.

Andrea Tinagli

Andrea Tinagli Principal Advisor at the Union for the Mediterranean for Sustainable Finance and Investments. Representing the EIB at the UFM Governing Bodies
Andrea Tinagli is an Italian citizen. Prior to his appointment at the UfM Secretariat, he covered during more than 25 years different managerial positions at the European Investment Bank (EIB), including Head of Spanish Delegation; Head of Holding Funds Southern Europe; Head of Italian Delegation and Head of Energy and Public sector and Project Finance Italy and Malta. His latest position was Head of Banks and Energy Baltic See and Northern EU Countries.
Andrea Tinagli has long experience in development finance, sustainable and green finance, Infrastructure and investment finance, financial instruments and securitization of SMEs and Midcaps portfolios. During the last years he focused on European external cooperation activities, concessional finance, being lecturer at several Universities outside the EU ( University of Amman in Jordan, Ain Shams University in Egypt, Euromed University of Fez in Morocco) and within the European Union (College of Europe in Belgium, Esade in Spain and La Sapienza in Italy). He co-chairs the steering committee of the Blue Mediterranean Partnership, a new Mediterranean financial instrument to accelerate the deployment of sustainable blue economy projects in the Southern Neighborhoods.
He studied at Bocconi University, Italy, HEC- Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, France and Esade Business School, Spain. He is Chartered accountant and Dottore Commercialista from the Italian Authorities.

Tarik El Malki

Professor Tarik EL MALKI is a senior academic (Professor of Higher Education-PES) at Groupe ISCAE. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (University of the Mediterranean, December 2010). Since December 2023, Professor EL MALKI has served as the Director General of Groupe ISCAE. Previously, he held the position of Director of Development, International Relations, and Communication, at Groupe ISCAE from 2016 to 2018, and Director of the ISCAE-Rabat Institute from 2019 to 2023.
Professor EL MALKI is an active member of several research organizations, including his role as President of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Observatory in Morocco, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Moroccan Economic Outlook Center, and a jury member for the Ecomédias Group Research Prize. He is also the Coordinator of the BLUE SPACE university incubator, a project in partnership with BMCE BANK OF AFRICA.
In addition to his academic and research roles, Professor EL MALKI is the author of several works, such as "Corporate Social Responsibility: The Case of Morocco" (Afrique-Orient, 2014), "Beyond All Divisions: Crossed Perspectives on the Morocco of Tomorrow" (co-authored with Nabil ADEL; Afrique-Orient, 2017), and "Morocco: Which Paths to Emergence?" (Afrique-Orient, 2020). He regularly participates in national media debates on economic and social issues.

Tugce graduated from Imperial College in London's Msc in Management & Entrepreneurship program in 2012 with the goal of creating her own brand in the functional food area. She spent 7 years creating functional foods and scaling the business to a certain extent where she started to understand the impact of food on her own health and in the business. She co-founded Foodback innovation platform with her partner and they have been operating as EIT Food Turkey HUB since 2018. Apart from her own entrepreneurship journey, she has managed to write in prestigious food outlets, designed content for three movies in the gastronomy and impact area and she has worked with more than 2000 entrepreneurs and students that are working to create impact in the Turkish food industry.

Simon Neaime

Simon Neaime is Professor of Economics and Finance, Chair of the Department of Economics, Director of the Institute of Financial Economics, and Chair of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers at the American University of Beirut (AUB). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from York University, Canada, an M.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto, and both a Master’s in Money and Banking and a B.A. in Economics from AUB. Dr. Neaime has held senior positions with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, the International Monetary Fund, and the European Commission, and was Visiting Scholar at York University (2017–2018). He has served as Associate Editor for leading journals, including the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions, and Money and Finance Research Letters. An expert on emerging markets and MENA economies, he has published extensively in top-tier journals such as Economic Modelling, Journal of Banking and Finance, Emerging Markets Review, and Open Economies Review, and has authored several textbooks on finance and macroeconomics. He is a lifetime Research Fellow of the Economic Research Forum.

She is a recognized mentor and coach for impact entrepreneurs, advisor on ecosystem building, and EFQM & EU BIC quality assessor for innovative organizations.

Lilia Hachem Naas

A Tunisian national, Ms Lilia Hachem Naas is a former United Nations (UN) Director and Chief for the Middle East and Africa regions. During 26 years at the UN, she worked for three organisations namely: International Trade Centre (ITC), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Ms Naas has extensive experience in coordinating complex development programmes to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth, focusing particularly on SMEs competitiveness, regional integration, trade and investment promotion, South-South cooperation, women empowerment and youth employment. She has been able to activate new partnerships with key stakeholders, support the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, and accelerate SDGs implementation. Prior to joining the UN, Ms Naas worked with Hewlett Packard Company in the USA and the Tunisian Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) in Tunisia. Ms. Naas holds an MBA in International Business Management and a MSc in Management Information Systems from University of Maryland, USA, and a Bachelor degree from IHEC Tunis, Tunisia.

Yasser Ahmed Abbas

Mohamed Bachiri

Mohamed BACHIRI is a key figure in Morocco’s automotive industry and business community. Since 2021, he has served as Managing Director of Renault Group Morocco and becoming the first Moroccan to hold this position.
He played a pivotal role in the launch of the Renault plant in Tangier, becoming the first Moroccan to work on the project. In recognition of this contribution, he was decorated in 2012 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI with the Order of National Merit – Officer rank.
In parallel, he has been actively involved in various boards and industrial commissions since 2012. Active in CGEM and industry boards, he has chaired the Commission for Industrial Development and the Morocco Industry Group within the CGEM.

Hind Saidi

Mrs. Hind Saidi is currently serving as the Director of Economic Development and Investment at the Regional Investment Center of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, where she leads strategic initiatives to attract and facilitate investment in the region.
Prior to this role, Mrs. Saidi dedicated 14 years to the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), where she played a pivotal role in strengthening the country’s industrial positioning. During her tenure, she served as Head of the Textile & Leather Department, spearheading investment promotion and export development programs for one of Morocco’s most dynamic sectors. She also held key positions as Analyst, Business Development Associate, and Export Manager for North & South America, contributing significantly to the expansion of Moroccan investments and exports not only in textiles and leather but also in the aerospace sector.
Her professional background also includes valuable international retail experience as a Sales Associate at Louis Vuitton, which enriched her expertise in global market dynamics and luxury brand management.
Mrs. Saidi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and multiple Master of Science degrees in International Management from prestigious institutions across Europe, including ICN Business School (France), Uppsala University (Sweden), and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy).

Nurzat Myrsalieva
Leader of the “Net Zero Partnership for Industrial Decarbonization” programme

Ms. Nurzat Myrsalieva works at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) leading the work under the “Net Zero Partnership for Industrial Decarbonization”, a global programme aimed to support emerging markets and developing economies with decarbonization of heavy emitting industries such as steel and cement. The countries supported include Argentina, Egypt, Indonesia, Kenya, and Morocco. Prior to joining UNIDO Ms. Myrsalieva worked in the Arab region supporting governments in improving the enabling environment for sustainable energy investments.

Walid Mansour

Walid Mansour is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of MEVP with deep roots in the MENA VC and tech ecosystem since the mid-2000s.
